Pilotprojekt: Asda liefert Lebensmittel an die U-Bahn-Station

Nach Tesco ("Click & Collect einmal anders gedacht ") experimentiert nun auch die britische Supermarkt-Kette Asda mit einem neuen Multichannel-Service, der Kunden den Online-Einkauf von Lebensmitteln in Zukunft nochmals komfortabler machen soll :

"Asda announced that it is working with Transport for London (TfL) to offer Grocery Click and Collect services locations at six London Underground station car parks. The service, a World first, will offer same day ordering (before noon) and collection of Asda products from their home station after 4pm. The first stations will be East Finchley, Harrow and Wealdstone, High Barnet, Highgate, Stanmore and Epping."

Wer also künftig bei Asda ordert, kann seine Ware beispielsweise auf dem Heimweg von der Arbeit dort abholen, wo er ohnehin vorbei muss. Verbraucher sparen sich damit den zusätzlichen Weg zu einer Filiale, um ihre Online-Bestellung abzuholen - falls sie die Lebensmittel denn selbst abholen und nicht nach Hause geliefert bekommen wollen . Asda wiederum erhöht seine Präsenz in der Fläche, ohne dass dazu neue Filialen eröffnet werden müssen. Vor diesem Hintergrund steckt in dem neuen Service durchaus Potenzial - meint auch der Anbieter selbst :

We believe customers will value the convenience of collecting shopping at their home tube station rather than carrying the products bought in premium convenience stores on their commute home. If the initial Click and Collect locations at London Underground station car parks are successful, Asda will seek to extend the scheme into other areas of London and the South East."
